The centre of events in Poole, The Blue Boar isn’t just home to regular discos and private parties - it’s also the focal point for two of the town’s biggest annual occasions.

The annual charity bike ride, which is held on August bank holiday, sees hundreds of participants cycle 27 miles around the harbour in fancy dress - visiting 25 pubs along the way. The event starts and ends here at the Blue Boar, where a beer festival and disco take place. 

The New Year’s Day Bath Race sets off in Poole Quay at 11.30am. A variety of unusual craft take to the water to race from the steps of The Customs House to the steps further along the quay. Participants are then rewarded with a party atmosphere and free food back at the pub afterwards.
